Have you ever get one of those invitation, where you have absolutely no idea who the person who is inviting you. Well I found myself in such a situation today. It was supposely from one of the worker at the factory which is part of our group of company. I am never dealt no seen the person who sent the invitation card through one of my office staff. Since the wedding was held just nearby where I am staying and it seems no so nice if I dont show up. So I rush back from town around 3.00pm got home to grab my camera and headed for the place and after going in circle finaly located the bride or bridgegoom(I still have no idea) As I was already late, the 'bersanding' celemony was already over and both the new couple were having their meal. I make a call to my son to inquire since it was his colleage who sent out the invitation.
He told me to look for a guy call mahat. So I walked up to a guy sitting down to ask "siapa mahat?"(who is mahat?) and what do you know? He turn out to be the guy I was looking for. I hand over my "angpow" or rather white envelope from the invitation card. Manage to capture some shots before I sit down to have my lunch. There wasn't much left since I was late, but it has my favourite rendang daging, so I have no complain!
Hmm, I have not been thru such situation, but there were a few occasions I remember, where I was invited by those not-so-close friend of friend...
ReplyDeleteHayley,
ReplyDeleteI have such kind of invitation too many times. their cousin got marry, their brothers, sisters etc.which I don't know at all.
but if i'ts too far normally I dont attend.
You didn't even know Mahat, who sent you the card? Even though after the wedding, you still unclear who invited you? This was quite peculiar. Anyway, you have made it to the wedding and helped yourself with the rendang. It was a not bad event after all:)
ReplyDeleteSheoh yan,
ReplyDeleteha ha yes I still don't know the guy. I understand he works in the same factory where my son is attached . It is in the same compound where my office is. The rendang was nice no doubt, but I got tummy upset in the evening. Must have been the curry or the drinks I had. Haiz.
Next week I got another invitation also from a stranger. This time the card was hand through my son. I will not attend as I will be back in my hometown. I guess it must be a community or cutoms thing where everyones gets invited(just like in the kampong??)
