my orbling experience

The day I have waited for finally arrived. today (Jul 26th) I was at the Gemas Golf resort, germas where this orbling event was held.
Orbing (or Zorbing), a crazy sport invented by the crazy Kiwis at New Zealand. An Orb Ball is an inflated rubber ball where you and your friend will be strapped/harnessed inside the ball and roll down a hill. This one I attended is 250m downhill.
My verdict? Thrilling, exciting and yet scary. I was told the wet orbling is even more fun. what they do is to add a pail of water inside the orb. I should have tried, but then I was just recovering from the after shock effect of the orb to consider. well maybe another time and maybe not.
At least I have gone through this experience of having tried this. This is one of those things I wanted to do before I hit 60 .

HOW CAN WE KNOW A PERSON BETTER??

While having dinner with my beloved god-daughter just the other I just reliased there are so many things I still do not know about her. So how can one know a person better? Prior to this I did ask one friend this question and she responded by saying we need to spend more time with the person. But how much time are we talking? 1 year, 2 years, 10 years? what if you dont have that much time? If we are to use time as a measure then it should be quality time spent together against the lenght of time known. This is because a people might known each other for a certain number of years but hardly meet, whereas another person might know him/her for a shorter period but spent almost any other day meeting, doing things together. I suppose the later will know more about that person than the former. I figure(my opinion) the only way one can know about people by asking. I did just that. So What is her dislike and what she likes. With the little time we had together this is what I gathered.

Let me see if I remember them all. let's start with the dislikes first.
if I recall correctly her no no lists were:-
1. she does not like milk/milk products and so ice creams is not on her favourite list
2. mango except the green ones.
3) noodles,
4) sandwiches ,bread

what she likes

1)blended ices drinks
2)Spicy food, tom yam etc
3)lots of chillies with her food
4)fried chicken, kfc, kenny rogers are ok
5)all kind of fruits
6)fruit juice like orange, apple
7)chocolate from New Zealand, where else.(cos she spent quite a number of years there)

I am sure there is still much more I need to learn about her and I want to know so much about her.

A wonderful evening with my beloved.

Today I promised to help my beloved God daughter to service her car, as she is quite handicap with time due to her nature of work. she only have sunday as her offday and most shops will be closed. Besides that is her only day of rest. so being a loving Dad that I am, I volunteered to help out.But it had to rain, of all day today. and boy did it rained Cats and dogs, and buffaloes! Got soaked wet, cos I was lazy to go to my car at the basement of JJ shopping complex to get my umbrella. Anyway spent couple of hours at my friend's shop and finally the rain stopped. I was able to sent back her car after a car wash.
True to her word, she made time to have dinner with me. you should see the grin on my face.. At last me and my baby having dinner together, just the two of us. We chated quite a bit. She filled me in abit on her personal life, her latest beau. I kinda like him already. so long as my gal is happy I am happy for her. After dinner we spend sometime at the supermarket to pick up some fruits.she insist I take some kiwis fruits as they are rich in vitamin C. can I refuse when she shows such concern? oh how I loved her.
Truely I am blessed.

NOW WHO'S BAD

Saw this status on a popular social networking website . ..".maybe I should not have got involved with her" .This was just one of the many negative statement posted lately by this character. There was one (which was eventually deleted) even worst that I cant mention here. Apparently this guy has fallen out of love, but then who has'nt right? But you don't go around 'bad mouth" your exs. It goes to shows how shallow you are. I was keeping silent all the while until i could not tolerate it any longer and give him a piece of my mind.
what I see here is a guy who has yet to grow up and very immature. If you love someone or claim that you did at least think of the good things, not the bad one right? When things were good I don't hear you singing praises of her? But when you were dumped you bite back? Surely that don't give you the right to "bad mouth" A sore loser. When you do that does that makes you any better? As Micheal Jackson would sing now who's bad.? The rightful thing to do is to part as friends instead of rather than being an enemy.

1 corrithians 13 :4-8 speaks what true love should be

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8Love never fails.
To all those sore losers here's a song dedicated to you.

so this is muay thai.

with two of the muay thai trainer

Just got back from a muay thai workshop.
The event was organised by the celebrity fitness center. It was suppose to start at 2.00 pm but did not start way after 2.00pm. I usually like to be early whenever I am not familiar with a place, and since I have never been to celebrity fitness center,I left klang early around 12.00 pm and got there about 12.45pm and after checking with two security personal manage to locate the center. I was told they will only open for registeration around 1.00pm and that we are to bring our own lock for their locker as they do not provide lock. so I had to rush to look for one .after going in circle manage to get one at parkson. it cost me rm21.90 I just can't understand why a fitness center does not provide locker with lock, like all other fittnes center. We were divided into two groups one for the beginers and the other for advance. We were given some theory and its Technique on muay thai.At the end of the session ,we were given the opportunity to put into practice what we had learnt. Those who were brave enough did some sparing. Here are some of the photos on the event. My verdict? Except for a few minor hicup, otherwise an enjoyable event. Kudos to the organisers for a job well done.
More photos were posted on in my album on facebook
My trainer during the workshop was Raja Ahmad Talmizi or cikgu, a renown muay thai exponent in his own right runs a club in Taman Sri Andalas in Klang.
I got mention in cikgu's blog here

Anyway why did I attend this workshop? Well it is one of those things I wanted to try before I hit 60.I intend to go for orbing next. care to join me.?

OF NEEDLES AND BLOOD

with candy

Just returned from a blood donation Campaign with a good feeling. It was not so frightening as most people make it out to be. I as invited by my son joel to lend support to the blood donation drive organised by the Lung Yen Association of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor at the Klang Parade. So I went there after church and before I knew it I was at the registration booth and end up donating my share of blood. In retrospect I was almost near to donating blood over 35 years ago or so. There was an emergency request from a church member due to a family member in the hospital that needed blood urgently. So after the church meeting a group of us(then still in our teens) rushed to the hospital. After doing the necessary test and procedures I was ready to donate, even though I was scare stiff of blood and needles. Then almost when it was our turn to enter the room , a nurse came out to say they had enough of blood required and so we could go home. What a relieve to most of us.(well at least to me)
25 years later I never thought I will end up doing my part in blood donation.
I was glad I did what I did this afternoon as I had overcome my fear of needles and blood.( I did not look at it the whole time :P) It was not that bad as what some people make it appear to be.It was over within 25 minutes or so I was up and about ,even help out in issuing of certificate to the donors.
For the benefit of those who have never donate blood before or are contemplating doing it, let me encourage you to do it as you can help save lives. There is nothing to fear. It is just a couple of simple steps and it will not take more than an hour.

step 1: registered at the registration desk you will need to filled up a form with with brief health questionaires to ensure your blood is safe.
step 2: a blood sample is taken from your finger, with a stapler like instrument and it just felt like an ant bite.
step 3: another counter to check your helth status, vital sign and review the heatlth questionaire.
step 4: another staff will input your data and issue you a donor card if you do not have one (ie if you a a first time donor.)
step 5: you will be place in a chair where your blood will be drawn.
this will takes about 25 minutes or so. and you are done.
step 6: you can collect your certificate of appreciation and some iron tablets from another counter .

That's it. nice and easy. nothing to fear about.(now who's talking )
I was told donors can donate once every 3 months with no side effect at all.In fact there are health benefit in doing so. read here for more details. According to the national blood bank each donation can save up to 3 lives. so think about it.Do your part be a blood donor and save lives.
For more details and facts about blood donation please check out our national blood bank's Web site and hereThat was my first time experience as a blood donor. so would I do it again. A Definite yes. Jom kita derma darah.

INCOMPLETE REFLECTION: A Brand New Life Has STARTED!!! I'm Back!!!

INCOMPLETE REFLECTION: A Brand New Life Has STARTED!!! I'm Back!!!

the award for the world's greatest moron goes to....?.

Just before my wife left for her trip she reminded me to pick up Reuben my elder son from the airport on saturday 4th of july, which is today.
so this morning I headed for the airport. I purposly left a few minutes late to allow him to checked out and by the time i reached there i do not have to wait too long.
when reached there i did not see him at the arrival area, so i called him and asked if he had landed. A rather surprised voice on the other end responded that he was still in kulai and his flight was only in the evening. I was so confident I had read the time correctly on the schedule and so I told him "well you just missed your flight!" He replied no Dad my flight is in the evening. what? you mean to say I came all the way for nothing!?? After counter checking his faxed copy schedule which my wife had earlier faxed to him, he confirm his flight was indeed in the evening. guess who goofed?? talk about being dumb. how could I make such a silly mistake. Before going back I make a stop at my mum's favourite coffee shop to have my chicken ball rice. My mum as usual was there and after my meal, sent her home.
when i got home I post that incident on my status and two comment came in after that
which I would like to share here:-
"Cheer up uncle Johnny...It's good to go out and smell the roses once in a while...(literally speaking, of cos), enjoy the sunshine..."
the other one really comfort me:-
"if u think u are the only one - try again!"
It's nice to know I am not the only one capable of such mistake.LOL
Lesson to be learnt here. always recheck your schedule. usually I will call my son to reconfirm is flight details, but this time I overlooked(over confident I guess)
so it cost me a futile trip, missed out my other programes. I had planned to attend the prayer meeting this morning(honest at 7.30 am because I thought the flight was in the morning at 8.10am i had to skipped that. also I was suppose to go to IOI mall for my RMP at the gym .that too had to be cancelled due to my mixed up.
so it was an expensive mistake.
