There is not a day, we dont have to make any kind of decision. Wheather it is a major decision or minor or not so important ones, we still have to decide and then make a choice. Sometimes we make a good and right decision and there are times we made a wrong decision and we have to live with it and hopefully learnt from that experience.
Last sunday was no different for me. I had planned to go for a hike at Broga in semenyeh. It was raining very heavily in Klang and I got a call from my friend Darren who informed me he might cancel the hike due to the weather but he can only decide once he reached the meeting point with the rest of the hikers. As he was late he had to leave in a hurry and I was to meet him latter at Mid valley. After picking up another friend Irene who brought along her two children. Since it was still raining and we were still in klang. She call up Darren and was informed of the situation and so we have to make a decision. if we go all the way to Broga and the event get cancelled it will be a furtile trip. So we decided to opt out since we were not sure if the weather there was favourable. We end up having dinner at a cafe at Bukit Tinggi. The kids were informed of our decision and they took it quite calmly no tantrum or argument at all. I credit it to the mother who had taught them well. Anyway we had a good meal and most importantly good fellowship.
How would you like it , when you logged into your facebook account the following day and you see photos of everyone having a good time at that supposely cancelled event??
Well we make a choice to opt out and obviously a wrong decision on our part.But we were not disappointed, because there will be other time and opportunity. But decision like this is not critical and we can live with it. so it no big deal if we missed out the fun.
There are times making the right decision are important and making when it concern money. I will be retiring in two months' time and I decided to terminate my membership at a local gym. My friends asked why do I need to quit. well I told them since I will be out of job(until I find new employment) I had to trim down my expenses. It is not an easy decision ,but it was necessary. I have to give up something I loved , but sometimes we have to make sacrifice depending on the situation.
There will be time when you need to make a choice between family and friends. What if you have been invited to dinner or party by your friends and your family is having something on as well on the same day. you have to decide whom to choose. someone will be disappointed in situation like this. who do you choose your friends or family. For me I will always choose my family. But I have known some people who will choose self first ,followed by their friends. It would appear their family are not important to them. sad indeed. Joshua have no problem making a right choice when he a gave a choice to the Israelites.(joshua 24:15) and then he make a stand on his choice.
" choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve,... . But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."
In life it's all about making a choice.
