I had been listening to a popular morning radio programe, where they play prank or put people on the spot. It was funny at first, but after a few listening, I reliased alot of people's private details have been broadcast on air. There was one case of a guy who had a bad record with the law and was trying to make a fresh start. Now it is a common knowledge.. I mean, it was unnecessary. There were also many cases where people whose not so nice secret were exposed. It also means playing with people's emotion. Some of them were really emotional and closed to tears. How do you like it if you had sat for a test and then being informed you have to retake your test, or if your exam papers have gone missing.? There was one guy who got the 'got cha' call on new year's day and he did not find it amusing at all and hung up. Then there was this girl who had high hope of closing a business deal with a prospect, but only to be found out it was just a prank call. She was so frustrated and all she could say was you are crazy, I hate you! If it was a guy you might hear some something like %*!@!!**%%% I am sure. There will alot of beeps on air. It might be funny to the DJ but certainly not to the person who just had been had.
Someone ought to complaint to get this show off the air. I remember there was one popular radio show in the 70s where the DJ did something controvervial and he was removed after some complaints
Just recollection of my thoughts...nothing serious. Thinking allowed(aloud) Ranting or emo if you must

The Amazing Cucumber
Everyone knows the expression "cool as a cucumber"
I bet you don't know some of the cool stuff about the cucumber. Got this article in the mail which I would like to share as it is really cool.
This information was in The New York Times several weeks ago as part of their "Spotlight on the Home" series that highlighted creative and fanciful ways to
solve common problems.
1. Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need every day, just one cucumber contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium,
Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc.
2. Feeling tired in the afternoon, put down the caffeinated soda and pick up a cucumber. Cucumbers are a good source of B Vitamins and Carbohydrates that can provide that quick pick-me-up that can last
for hours.
3. Tired of your bathroom mirror fogging up after a shower? Try rubbing a cucumber slice along the mirror, it will eliminate the fog and provide a soothing, spa-like fragrance.
4. Are grubs and slugs ruining your planting beds? Place a few slices in a small pie tin and your garden will be free of pests all season long. The chemicals in the cucumber react with the aluminum to give off a scent undetectable to humans but drive garden pests crazy and make them flee the area.
5. Looking for a fast and easy way to remove cellulite before going out or to the pool? Try rubbing a slice or two of cucumbers along your problem area for a few minutes, the phytochemicals in the cucumber cause the collagen in your skin to tighten, firming up the outer layer and reducing the visibility of cellulite.
Works great on wrinkles too!!!
6. Want to avoid a hangover or terrible headache? Eat a few cucumber slices before going to bed and wake up refreshed and headache free. Cucumbers contain enough sugar, B vitamins and electrolytes to replenish essential nutrients the body lost, keeping everything in equilibrium, avoiding both a hangover and headache!!
7. Looking to fight off that afternoon or evening snacking binge? Cucumbers have been used for centuries and often used by European trappers, traders and explores for quick meals to thwart off starvation.
8. Have an important meeting or job interview and you realize that you don't have enough time to polish your shoes? Rub a freshly cut cucumber over the shoe, its chemicals will provide a quick and durable shine that not only looks great but also repels water.
9. Out of WD 40 and need to fix a squeaky hinge? Take a cucumber slice and rub it along the problematic hinge, and voila, the squeak is gone!
10. Stressed out and don't have time for massage, facial or visit to the spa? Cut up an entire cucumber and place it in a boiling pot of water, the chemicals and nutrients from the cucumber with react with the boiling water and be released in the steam,
creating a soothing, relaxing aroma that has been shown the reduce stress in new mothers and college students during final exams.
11. Just finish a business lunch and realize you don't have gum or mints? Take a slice of cucumber and press it to the roof of your mouth with your tongue for 30 seconds to eliminate bad breath, the phytochemcials will kill the bacteria in your mouth
responsible for causing bad breath..
12. Looking for a 'green' way to clean your faucets, sinks or stainless steel? Take a slice of cucumber and rub it on the surface you want to clean, not only will it remove years of tarnish and bring back the shine,
but is won't leave streaks and won't harm you fingers or fingernails while you clean.
13. Using a pen and made a mistake? Take the outside of the cucumber and slowly use it to erase the pen writing, also works great on crayons and markers that the kids have used to decorate the walls!!
I think I will get me some cucumber now.

Marriage is for Keeps
Today is a very important day for my youngest son Joel. He and his long time girl friend candy had their marriage registered at the Hokkien Association, klang. My mum and nephew , candy 's relatives and friends of both the bride and groom was there to witness the celemony. Before they could sign the marriage certificate the officer in charge asked them and also to all those who were there to get their marriage legalised why was it so important for them to have their marriage registered? She put it bluntly, because it is the only evidence recognised by the government. She gave example of people who corhabit together without going through the legal process and many of them faces problem and complication later on , especially where there are properties involved. Without it there is no way for the spouse to proof that they were ever married to one another should something happen to one of the partner. And what about the child if they have any? without a proof of their parent's legalised marriage it will cause a lot of inconvenience to the child later in life. So you see the marriage certificate is more that just a paper.she also stressed marriage is for life. How true.
I wished the new couple all the best and as they journey their life together as man and wife, they will be torrelance of each other, as it will be a long journey.

A quite walk at the park
This evening, I had a quite walk in the park. I deceided not to jog, as I have some pain on my knees, due to some many days of body combat. Perhaps this is a good time to practise for my walkaton which will be held next sunday. As I walk my mind started to wander, there is so many things on my mind lately. My eldest son's coming wedding had kept me thinking about the preparation .I am not sure what to do.I have check out a few restaurants, and that was about all.No booking have been done yet. I have a rough budget work out and hope to work out the guest list, which is a headache. there will be some names we will need to drop.Coming back to my walk at the park, I saw one father holding the hand of his daughter, as he help her walk slowly down a slop.He was assuring her it will be safe or something to that effect. Hope that little girl will treasure that moments when she grows up, if she remember it. I wanted to tell the father to value and enjoy every moments he is with his girl, because she will soon grow up one day and will be have her own family. Of course I didn't .But that was my thought. well my boy will have his family of his own pretty soon and hope he will not forget his family. Just then somebody I knew ran pass by me. I did not have the chance to talk to her at all. How I wished I could have. There is so much things I wanted to talk about. Well that is just wishful thinking I guess.
memories
was enjoying listening to this song by the bee gees. brought back some fond memories. the song these days are not like those I grew up with. so engross into the song, forgot I was steaming some bun and it got burnt. now the whole house is so smoky and smell. hope it will clear up before my wife gets back. I think the lyrics of yesteryears song are so meaniful than those of today's. what do you think.
anyway do enjoy this song.
Oh my heart won't believe that you have left me
I keep telling my self that it's true
I can get over anything you want my love
But I can't get myself over you
Don't forget to remember me
And the love that used to be
I still remember you
I love you
In my heart lies a memory to tell the stars above
Don't forget to remember me my love
On my wall lies a photograph of you girl
Though I try to forget you somehow
You're the mirror of my soul so take me out of my hole
Let me try to go on living right now
Don't forget to remember me
And the love that used to be
I still remember you
I love you
In my heart lies a memory to tell the stars above
Don't forget to remember me my love
anyway do enjoy this song.
Oh my heart won't believe that you have left me

I can get over anything you want my love
But I can't get myself over you

Is Life Really Worth Living?
We have in our possession a considered response to this basic question from one of the wisest, richest, most powerful men to have walked the earth. And yet even today his counsel is widely ignored or misunderstood!
"Vanity of vanities," lamented Solomon, "all is vanity!" Solomon used the word "vanity" 38 times in Ecclesiastes as he wrote about life "under the sun." The word means "emptiness," "futility," "vapor"; "that which vanishes quickly and leaves nothing behind." From the human point of view, life ("under the sun") does often appear futile; and it is easy for us to get pessimistic. But we should not mistake brutal honesty with pessimism.
Ecclesiastes is the kind of book a person would write near the end of life, reflecting on life's experiences and the painful lessons learned. Solomon wrote Proverbs from the viewpoint of a wise teacher,1 and Song of Songs from the viewpoint of a royal lover,2 but when he wrote Ecclesiastes, he called himself "the Preacher."3
The Hebrew title is Koheleth, and it is the title given to an official speaker who calls an assembly. The Greek word for "assembly" is ekklhsia, ekklesia, and thus the Septuagint version gives us the English title of the book, Ecclesiastes.
But the Preacher did more than call an assembly and give an oration. The word Koheleth carries with it the idea of debating, not so much with the listeners as with himself. He would present a topic, discuss it from many viewpoints, and then come to a practical conclusion.
Ecclesiastes is unlike any other Old Testament book and has no parallel in other literature of the Biblical world. It is a philosophical discourse, and yet it is more. Ecclesiastes makes no claim to bring man a word from God. Instead the writer specifically states that he includes only what he can determine by his own reason and limits himself to data that is available "under the sun."
(The doctrine of inspiration, however, assures us that this book conveys the message that God intended that we should receive, but it does not guarantee that all of Solomon's statements are accurate!)
Ecclesiastes is different from any other book of the Bible. It does not dwell on the covenant, the election of Israel, redemption, prophecy, sacred history, or the temple. Its focus is on man the creature, his life on earth, and the inscrutability of God and His ways. Ecclesiastes goes beyond the other wisdom literature to emphasize the fact that human life and human goals, as ends in themselves and apart from God, are futile and meaningless.
see the rest of the article here.
I might not be like solomon ,having tried everything under the sun., but I think I have tried some of the things that I have tried, like gym, exercise, hiking, friendship, things I thought could make me happy. They did, but only for a while. So I must agreed with solomon, vanity, oh vanity all is but vanity.

pinocchio
Geppetto, a poor old wood carver, was making a puppet from a tree branch. "You shall be my little boy," he said to the puppet, "and I shall call you 'Pinocchio '." He worked for hours, carefully carving each detail. When he reached the mouth, the puppet started making faces at Geppetto. "Stop that, you naughty boy," Geppetto scolded, "Stop that at once !" "I won't stop !" cried Pinocchio .
"You can talk !" exclaimed Geppetto.
"Of course I can, silly," said the puppet. "You've given me a mouth to talk with." Pinocchio rose to his feet and danced on the table top. "Look what I can do !" he squealed.
"Pinocchio , this is not the time to dance," Geppetto explained. "You must get a good night's rest. Tomorrow you will start going to school with the real boys. You will learn many things, including how to behave."
On his way to school the next morning, Pinocchio stopped to see a puppet show. "I
can dance and sing better than those puppets and I don't need strings," boasted Pinocchio . He climbed onto the stage.
"Get off my stage," roared the Puppet Master. Then he noticed how much the crowd liked Pinocchio . He did not say anything and let Pinocchio stay. "Here, you've earned five copper coins," the Puppet Master told Pinocchio .
"Take these coins and go straight home," said the Puppet Master. Pinocchio put the coins into his sack.
He did not go very far before he met a lame Fox and a blind Cat. Knowing that Pinocchio had money, they pretended to be his friends. "Come with us. We'll teach you how to turn those copper pieces into gold," coaxed the sneaky Cat.
"We want to help you get rich. Plant your coins under this magic tree. In a few hours they'll turn to gold," said the Fox.
"Show me where," said Pinocchio excitedly. The Cat and Fox pointed to a patch of loose dirt. Pinocchio dug a hole and put the sack in it, marking the spot with a stone.
"Splendid !" exclaimed the Cat. "Now let's go to the inn for supper." After supper, the Fox and Cat, who weren't really lame or blind, quickly snuck away and disguised themselves as thieves. They hid by the tree waiting for Pinocchio to come back and dig up the money. After Pinocchio dug up the coins they pounced on him.
"Give us your money !" they ordered. But Pinocchio held the sack between his teeth and resisted to give the sack to them. Again they demanded, "Give us your money !"Pinocchio 's Guardian Fairy, who was dressed all in blue and had blue hair, sent her dog, Rufus, to chase the Fox and Cat away. She ordered Rufus to bring Pinocchio back to her castle. "Please sit down," she told Pinocchio . Rufus kept one eye open to watch what was going on.
"Why didn't you go to school today?" she asked Pinocchio in a sweet voice.
"I did," answered Pinocchio . Just then, his nose shot out like a tree branch. "What's happening to my nose?" he cried. read the rest of the story here
Of course this is just a fairy tale, but I wonder if people's nose can grow longer each time they tell a lie, I guess there will be many people with long nose. Have you ever wonder why people tell lies? Sometimes they can't even tell a proper lie, the excuse they use are so poor and they even forgot they have already use the excuses before. It would be better if they just tell the truth even if the truth hurt. If they do not wish to face somebody just be frank, I am sure the person on the receiving end will appreciate it. If fact I think they will even admire your guts.
