GIVE THANKS WITH A GRATEFUL HEART

As one aged, one treasure what is dear to their heart. I am thankful for my family good friends.(I dont have that many) but for the few that are true and sincere I am grateful.I am happy to have so many hiking friends and lately new rock climbing friends.

My grand children gave me so much joy. I might not have much time and do not know how long I will be on this earth, but for the time that I have as long as God lend me breath I will enjoyed their presence. Of course I am thankful for my wife and children and daughter in laws for their care and love. Not forgething my God daughter as well for her love.Though she may be far away, but will always remain close to my heart. God Bless all of you.

THE KID FROM THE BIG APPLE

Manage to catch this wonderful show after gym last evening. What a wonderful touching story suitable for family.It has one of my favourite TV star Jessica Hester Hsuan and also Ti Lung(a kung fu star in the 70s) under shaw brothers. Now he is known as Tommy Tam( I had no idea why) I will definately watch it again and even buy the DVD once available.

THE main stars and director of the locally-produced comedy-drama, The Kid from the Big Apple, were in Kuala Lumpur recently to promote the movie.

Malaysia-born director Jess Teong and her leading stars –veteran Hong Kong actor Tommy Tam (better known as Ti Lung), popular Hong Kong actress and TVB star Jessica Hester Hsuan as well as Malaysian child stars Sarah Tan Qin Lin and Jason Tan – attended the gala premiere of the movie on March 3 at GSC Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.

They also held a series of meet-and-greet sessions with fans in Ipoh and Penang over that weekend.

For the uninitiated, The Kid from the Big Apple which was shot entirely in Malaysia, has already gained critical acclaim and recognition in a few international film festivals.

At the 7th Macau International Movie Festival (Golden Lotus Award) last December, it nabbed four awards – best writing for Teong who also wrote the script, best actor for Tam, best supporting actress for Hsuan, and best newcomer for child star Sarah.

It was no easy feat, as the competition was tough and included heavy-hitters such as Wilson Yip’sIp Man 3 and Dante Lam’s To the Fore.

Besides the awards and recognition, this made-in-Malaysia production is also the first local movie to collaborate with international fast food chain McDonald’s (whose brand placement is very much evident in the movie).

At a recent press conference, Teong was asked what her thoughts were when coming up with the idea for this heart-warming comedy-drama.

She said: “In Malaysia and Asia, traditions are still very important and are constantly passed down to the next generation.

“But what actually makes traditions special are the people who teach us about them.

“When we reminisce about who taught us these traditions and [what we learnt from] them, it usually [evokes] a sweet … feeling and memory.”

Tam, who is well-known for his many roles in kung fu movies in the 1970s, only had praises for the director.

He said: “Teong took filming the movie very seriously, and was very meticulous even to the most minute detail. She wouldn’t even let a strand of hair be out of place.

“I knew this movie would be something special due to her dedication, and I admired how she did her best to make each scene as well-shot as possible.”

Tam hopes that everyone will watch the movie as it promotes family values and highlights the memorable adage “it doesn’t matter if it’s in the East or West, home is always the best”.

The best parody on valentine's day. This is a real senario in Malaysia now. Everything is expensive,but that should not spoilt your valentine day. I think Valentine's day should goes beyond expensive gifts or eating out at a fancy restaurant.  As the lyrics of Captain and Tennille says Love will keep us together. Happy valentine's day

HUGGING, WHAT IS IT?

This morning saw someone share a picture on hug , picture below.

I get lots of it from closed friends and loved ones. Some of my hiking friends give me a warm hug when ever they see me, and I do too.But sometimes if I had not seen them for a long time, I might forget who are the ones ok with a hug ,so I wait for them to make the first move.Of course there are times they don't and they would say I don't care anymore. I know they say that in jest, they are very old and good friends and don't take offends easily. 

I thought it was so meaniful and google abit and look what I found.

LOVE IS MORE THAN JUST A FOUR LETTER WORD.

My friend Tony, sent me this article which is so touching that I must share here.

 A very poor man lived with his wife. One day, his wife, who had very long hair, asked him to buy her a comb for her hair. The man felt very sorry but said no. He explained that he did not even have enough money to fix the strap of his watch he had just broken. She did not insist on her request. The man went to work and passed by a watch shop, sold his old watch at a low price and went to buy a comb for his wife. He came home in the evening with the comb in his hand ready to give to his wife. He was surprised when he saw his wife with a very short haircut. She had sold her hair and was holding a new watch band. Tears flowed simultaneously from their eyes, not for the futility of their actions, but for the reciprocity of their love.

At the very end of it all, when we leave the classroom of our lives and return to Spirit, it will matter not how much money we had, but how rich we were in loving.

WHAT A QUESTION?

While I was browsing through the web last night, I got a call from my darling wife, which was rather unusual. We have an understanding that we only call if something is urgent or need immediate attention.
What she asked me took me by surprise . Do you have a girl friend outside? she asked. What a question to ask. Of course not! you are my only one for me.(I was gonna say one is bad enough ...no just kidding) Then she said how come I ignore her when I got home. So I told her well you have your own thing and everytime I return you are with your friend so I went to my hills.( I hike quite often) She resorted by saying she did not know when I was coming back. Well did'nt your daughter in law informed you.  My wife replied yes she did much later, after I had already made plan to be with my friend to attend a forum in malacca. refer  to my earlier http://johnnie-insearchof.blogspot.com/2011/05/lonely-i-am-so-lonely.htmlt.
So what is the point of this posting?   Breakdown in communication. Good thing both of us were sensible and mature enough and did not make a mountain out of a mole hill. you might have been married for a long long while, but  it is still so important to have a good communication with your spouse, understand johnnie B Goode?
Before she hung up she told me she saw something at the mall and have been thinking about it.guess what did she saw?
