A BLACK DAY FOR MALAYSIA

We have just  had our 13th General Election. Pre Election period, there was a strong indication and excitement in the air every where. All ceremahs were fully packed. Even the one I attended when I was visiting Kulai on a hiking trip it was packed to the maximum and everyone was shouting ubah ubah. There was high hope we would get a new government come may 6th. The signs were there. This morning around 2.30am as I checked  my facebook to catch up on the lastest report on the Election results I saw a lot of black profile staring at me. Barisan Nastional had won the election  and you can be sure it was not via the ballot box,but through manipulating the ballots(new boxes produced upon recount) and some foreigners who were allowed to vote. There were photos and videos of these 'phantom"voters who came by the bus loads, but the Election commisions  had denied them.
The people of Malaysia have been robbed of their victory . There is no honour of winning by   cheating. It is people without any dignity would resorted to such shameless act, How can such one even be Prime Minister?
Our hopes of a better Malaysia have been crushed.. This is a very sad day for Malaysia. How long must we wait before we see a new Malaysia, where everyone will be treated as equal and where we can proudly called ourselves as Malaysian?

A SIGN OF INSECURITY?

Just a few days before our hiker’s gathering, I received a message
from  my friend who had earlier confirm her attendance. She said she is giving the function as miss as she felt someone in our circles of friends do not want her around. Her reasoning was  she had shared too many personal things to our mutual friends and now might want to avoid her.She specifically named one person who might not welcome her presence.
And she further said she saw   this  posted on her(the other friend)wall." We’re not together, but no one else is allowed to date you okay? I don’t think that that message was directed to her at all. I mean people post and shared such  quotes all the time.
I wanted to ask that friend if that message was directed at her or not, but later decided against it.
I think she is just being paranold, maybe suffering from withdrawal syndrome even.
What do you think. Was she over reacting?

ARE YOU ALWAYS IN A HURRY?

Yesterday during our cell meeting we had a video screening and one of the lesson we learnt was that when we are always in a hurry, we missed out some precious moment with our children, loved ones or even friends. As Christians, we might even missed out what God wants to tell us. No wonder the psalmist wrote, "be still, and know I am God"  My friend ,David related  this interesting story.
One day he saw what he thought was some worms on the leaves of his manggo trees. He was about to get rid of them , when on closer look, reliased they were actually caterpillars , and so he left them alone. A few days latter, he was able to watch how the ugly caterpillars transformed to beautiful butterflies. He called both his daugthers to watch  the remarkable creation of God.  I am sure that sight was so special as most city folks will never get to see. While he relate that story, I was able to recall my precious moments too. Years ago I discovered a bird nest in front of my house where we hung out laudry to dry. I could see some eggs inside. I was careful not to  make any physical contact with the nest as I remember reading somewhere if we do, they will abandon their eggs. Over the next few weeks I just watched from my window until the eggs were hatch. Meanwhile I had christened the mother bird Jamie and my oldest son who was about 4 or 5 at that time was with me. Day by day we were able to watch Jamie faitfully bringing food for her babies. One fine day, when we got back home we discovered the nest were empty. Apparently the birds had strong wings and were able to fly. I told my son, Jamie had taken her family to another place where they belong.  We had come to term with Jamie and her babies'departure. Then one day my son called to me rather exhilaratingly.  "Daddy ,Jamie's back. I went out to have a look, sure enough Jamie came back with her family.  For the next couple of days she and her family droped by to say hello and then they were gone for good.   I think she was just saying thank you for the hospitality.
Do you have moments like this?

CLIMBING FOR A GOOD CAUSE

Who would have thought, I could have fun and raise some fund for a needy cause? The needy in this case is two animal shelter namely Noah ark foundation and Malaysian dogs deserves better(mddb).
My friend shang ko came up with this idea of asking climbers to get their friends to sponsor them when they climb. All pledges/donation collected will be shared with the mentioned animal shelter. An event was created on facebook. Everyone was  posting how many sponsor they had and they amount pledged and I had zero. Then I saw one person saying she would not be able to attend, but would be happy to sponsor anyone to climb on her behalf. I quickly volunteered and she pledged rm50.00 .That was a good start
I had no idea who I was going to approach.
Just a couple of days ago I decided to put on my status saying I will be climbing for a good cause , sadly only one friend from Johor responded and banked in Rm100.00 . I had this problem, when it comes to asking people for donations.  Well since this is for a good cause I have to be a bit thicked skin and so I sent a message to a good friend of mine and he promptly bank in Rm100.00 as well. Then yesterday another friend donated another rm100.00   .   I will chipped in another rm50.00 to make it Rm400.00   It is not much , but at least I did try and I am happy I was able to help out in a small way.
The event was also appear in yesterday's star paper  here

HOW SAFE ARE WE?

Yesterday, I was having a chat with my boss, and in the middle of our  discussion, he received a phone call from his home. His house had been robbed. It was really a day light robbery. So he had to rushed back home. This morning he update me on the situation. Apparently those robbers must have been  surveilance on is house for a long time as they seems to know even what time he return home. There were two men of Indian origin dressed up like ninjas, carrying samurai swords. Only his wife, daughter and mother were at home at that time. They got away with some cash and golds. I just don't understand why people still keep large amount of money and even jewelry at home . Thank God no one was harm.
However there was another incident I heard from the other Boss. The victim had her head decapitated. It could be the victim could recognised the robber or even know him.  We are living in a terrible and unsafe world these days. No one is safe anymore. We have to be extra careful and be prayerfully each day.I only prayed something can be down about our police force. Unless they buck up, crime will continue to rise and robbers would be more daring. Those travelling during the festive seasons, do take extra precaution. Have a good neighbour keep an eye while you are away.
